.Haim Saban  has re-aquired the rights to  Power Rangers Franchise from Disney.  Twenty new episodes are slated for 2011....... Which are set to  air on the  Nickelodeon and Nicktoons Cable Networks. Reruns of the past seasons will also begin airing. Jonathon Tzachor is set to return as Showrunner.

The sale includes  includes alll episodes, dvd/video rights, trademarks, ect... Power Rangers will now fall under the Saban Brands umbrella ( a new company Saban as set up)  Toei will continue to co-own the franchise, as it always has.

Haim Saban brought Power Rangers to the airwaves in 1993, after cutting a deal with Toei to import Super Sentai to America ( as a new show called Power Rangers). To do this, Saban Entertainment  ( Saban's forrner company) spliced together the Japanese  action scenes with original scenes. Which were shot with American actors. Thus creating a totally new show.

The show became a staple on the Fox Kids Network. Power Rangers became a huge fad in the early ninties..... Generating huge toy sales and a few feature films. Even after the fad died down, new episodes continued for almost 20 years. Over Seven Hundren Episodes have been produce during that time period.
In 2001, Saban Entertainment  was sold to Disney, in their bid to aquire Fox Family (rebranded ABC Family). In the deal , Disney also aquired Power Rangers. Which they continued to produce (  with some massive production crew changes and with  filming moved  to New Zealand). In the beginning, Power Rangers moved to the ABC  and ABC Family. Later airing first run episodes on Toon Disney.

When Disney rebranded Toon Disney into Disney XD (in 2009), Power Rangers  was not a part of Network  . Instead Power Rangers RPM aired only on  ABC Kids ( ABC's Saturday Morning Block). During that year word came out that the show was to be cancelled at the conclusion of RPM. In 2010, ABC began re-aired edited versions of the first season. Which continue to air on the Network.

Jonathon Tzachor worked as a producer since the shows inceptions. Becoming the defacto Show Runner during the fourth season. Tzachor worked on the frianchise for its first ten years. His invovlement ended shortly after the Disney merger. Until Saban's recent re-aquistion of the franchise.
